Hi, I'm Jobeth...

I’ve spent 15 years finding the real story inside the assignment: first in newsrooms, now for brands.

I started in hard news in San Diego, then Kearney, Nebraska, Omaha and Honolulu. Shootings, storms, police calls, politicians, and the 5am traffic hit that had to be right every time. That job teaches you two things fast: how to get a stranger to tell you the truth on camera, and how to make a deadline that doesn’t move.

From there, I helped build shows from the ground up. I was on the founding team of Hawaii Now (HI Now) producing lifestyle and culture stories that never read as ads, work that earned an Emmy. I helped launch NBC LX News nationally from Dallas in the middle of a pandemic, building formats in real time with no playbook. Most recently, I spent nearly three years hosting and producing NBC’s California Live in the Bay Area, telling stories about the businesses and communities that make California what it is.

Every one of those jobs was the same skill in a different setting: find the story, earn the trust, hit the deadline, make it land.

Now I’ve come home to San Diego and built Still Eating Good Media. I’m the director, host, producer and editor on every project, so the person you hire is the person doing the work. No handoffs. 

I make story-driven video for brands, businesses, organizations and nonprofits that want content people stop for, not scroll past.

I’m also available for select hosting, producing and content strategy engagements, wherever a newsroom-trained storyteller adds something a standard production doesn’t.
